Just do it! The power of processing that 1%

Today, I finally decided to launch this website after years of postponement. The main reason that locked my decision was “I have nothing to show yet”! Looking back, I realize how unreasonable that notion was. How could I have something to show if I did, literally, nothing at all?! Meanwhile, I have been trained for a good chunk of time in project management and the art of making progress. I have worked on landscape architecture projects, taking ideas all the way from concept to reality – projects that took years and a lot of effort. For sure I know How to Eat an Elephant! Yet, I did not agree to put the first brick to the ground and establish the first one percent in order to achieve one hundred?!

I read the quote a while back and have been using it to mentor people. Now, this is the time for me to mentor myself, too.
Another roadblock that kept holding me back was my perfectionism. As the nature of a designer, an engineer to be exact, I am wired to focus on details and aim for perfection. I forgot that my construction drawings were developed from scratch, from hand sketches without measurements to Building Information Models (BIM – a kind of 3D modeling that includes every detail of spaces, down to the bolts in a skyscraper and their characteristics). Did I forget how many revisions I had to make for the same item over the years? Certainly not.
Therefore, I accept myself to start this site and that I will need to revise, upgrade, or make changes along the way. It does not have to be perfect and get everything in place to establish just one percent.
